Green Grapes 1

Green Grapes 1 by Christopher Johnson
Green Grapes 1 by Christopher Johnson

A beautiful bunch of glowing green grapes. I enhanced a bunch of green grapes by adjusting the lighting, shadows, brightness, and color. I went through a long series of effects and reduced the level of each one. While the overall effect is powerful, each individual filter only added a little to these great green grapes.

Mandarin Orange 1 - Mandarina 1

Mandarin oranges, mandarinas, are my favorite early winter fruit. They make me think of Christmas, and I buy many kilograms of them every year while they are fresh and in season. The only problem is that eating them is a little messier because of the seeds.

I love their tart flavor. Each juicy piece of this fruit should be cherished. In Mandarina 1, I'm celebrating its general form and beauty. Mandarins are unique and compelling. I love the perfume of the fruit as it is peeled too. It is so intoxicating.

Creamy Yellow Rose

While people up north are getting autumn temperatures and colorful leaves, the weather is is only just starting to cool off as we start to enter the dry season.  While I wish I could get photos of snow and leaves for holiday themed artwork, I also enjoy having some flowers all year long.  In cold climates there is a burst of flowers in a few short months while in warm climates you have them all year but not quite so many at a time. Every plant has its season.

While walking back from the bank yesterday through Tultitlán and then Cuautitlán, I took a few photos of flowering trees and plants.  I almost missed this rose flower from a very tall shrub growing over a wall. The flower was above me in the light so as photos are judged, it was very bad lighting, but I thought it was very pretty so I took the photo anyway in hopes of turning it into art.

IntrospectionIntrospección

This work is trying to show the model in a more innocent reflective pose. I'm very tempted to make another version with angel's wings. Here he is contemplating life in a pure state as if he was sitting on peaceful clouds.

Linger in the Moonlight 1

This artwork is a digital collage although it does have some painterly qualities. A couple days ago I got a call that one of my friends had passed away so after a day of feeling loss, I made this work dedicated to those who have a passed away.

Linger in the Moonlight 1

Linger in the Moonlight 1

May your memory linger in the moonlight like these ghosts dancing in a dark forest with the moon to light their path. Rest in Peace dear friends and family who are and will be missed.

Queen Anne's Lace 3 Moonbeam

I like to experiment with both high-key and low-key artwork. It gives extra variety and it sometimes changes the mood and emotional impact of art.  In Queen Anne's Lace 3 Moonbeam, I had this reference photo with beautiful flowers, but it was taken at an angle so the sky was in the right corner. I had to change the background if i were to use this image.

I decided on adding texture from other parts of the background then accentuated the plant and flower lines and decided that it would be great with a moonbeam like glow and focus allowing me to further remove attention from the angle of the flowers and the background. I hope you like it.

This fractal flame artwork was just something for fun, but it makes me think of photos I've seen of the northern lights.

Golden Brown Glow Kaleidoscope Art 2

While I didn't get much of a response on Facebook after posting a couple kaleidoscope styled artworks in this series, I enjoy the glow that this work  and the other three below contain.

Pearls from the Deep - Fractal ArtPerlas De La Profundidad - Arte Fractal

This fractal like the previous fractal artwork, was very simple in as a fractal, but after a few hours of post-processing, It is attractive. This one makes me think of pearls turned into a bracelet or necklace. I tried to add some texture, lighting, color, etc. in post-processing.

Esta obra de arte como la anterior, fue bastante sencillo como fractal, pero después de procesar la imagen algunas horas se me hace atractiva. Agregue color, textura, y luz. Me hace pensar en una pulsera o un collar hecha de perlas.

Focal Point - Fractal ArtArte Fractal - Enfoque

Here's my second fractal artwork,Focal Point 1. This abstract work is to make you imagine light traveling in space with the focal point as a distant star, but if you imagine something else, that's great too! :-)

Modern Blue Agave (Maguey) Art - Blue Agave 1 Glow

Blue Agave 1 Glow

Blue Agave 1 Glow

This pretty blue agave plant is from a nearby park. I put it through some of my favorite effects and I really like how it turned out. It makes me think of something that'd look great on a modern wall in an arid or desert climate like in the south-west USA or most of Mexico.  The original plant's leaves really are blue.  A version of this image without the effects is also available in my Imagekind Agave Gallery, so you can compare them. This artwork has blues, browns, and pink in pastel colors.  Don't forget to add a comment!

Blue Kaleidoscope 10

This is one of my favorite blue kaleidoscopes from the while glowing points to the lines that look almost like chains in a circle.
