Pearls from the Deep - Fractal ArtPerlas De La Profundidad - Arte Fractal

This fractal like the previous fractal artwork, was very simple in as a fractal, but after a few hours of post-processing, It is attractive. This one makes me think of pearls turned into a bracelet or necklace. I tried to add some texture, lighting, color, etc. in post-processing.

Focal Point - Fractal ArtArte Fractal - Enfoque

Here's my second fractal artwork,Focal Point 1. This abstract work is to make you imagine light traveling in space with the focal point as a distant star, but if you imagine something else, that's great too! :-)

Here is the original fractal generated by software with my settings.

Growth 1 - Fractal ArtCrecimiento 1 - Arte Fractal

Last night, I decided to try again with fractal art. Fractal art is made with fractals which are generated on computers using very complex equations. The first time I tried, the images I made weren't any better than the default, so this time instead of trying to learn how they work I'm just changing settings until I like something. After I save my fractal image, I open it in Photoshop and I process it as if it were one of my normal photographic artworks.

Two Birds at SunsetAnochecer con Dos Pájaros

Two Birds at Sunset

I made this artwork  inspired by Sue's challenge to make visual art from what you see out your window or from your doorstep. This was very challenging indeed because I'm surrounded by low income cinderblock houses not gardens and green lawns, so I had to either show you what little sky is visible or the sidewalk cracks :-) I'm sorry to disappoint sidewalk lovers :-)

Fantasy Fairy in the Woods 1Hada en el Bosque 1

If you're a regular reader, you know I love to experiment and stretch my abilities and subject matter.  Considering how I haven't tried anything really new for a few weeks, I started this fantasy fairy image last evening and you'll see the most up-to-date version here.

Fantasy Fairy in the Woods 1

This is my first attempt at anything fantasy or at drawing wings so please, if you don't like it, add a comment with a specific suggestion to improve it (give steps!). I used Photoshop for this, but I have Painter too.(lo siento, aun no no hay traducción para esta entrada)

Wet Impatiens Flower Una Flor Impatiens mojada

I took this photo several months ago, but due to lighting problems I never used it until this morning. I only spent about an hour working on it.

A Cute Little Squirrel Becomes Art!Una Ardilla Se Convierte en Arte!

I saw this cute squirrel near the Niños Héroes monument in Chapultepec park on the same trip when I went to the zoo. Yes, the zoo is in the park.   I made two versions. One for fun and the other for others to enjoy (the simpler one).

Black Swan 1 Pond Ripples Artwork Arte de Cisne Negro 1

Sometimes you take a photo and you just wish and hope that you can do justice to the real thing. Cameras rarely take a photo as good as the eye can see. The photos of the black swan I took is one of those cases. The black swans were glorious! Here is the first of my favorite two. It took several hours to edit, but I think it was worth the effort.

Black Swan 1 Pond Ripples Artwork

Here's the original photo

This is my second artwork from my Zoo visit on Thursday afternoon. I completed it late last night so some of you saw it first on my Facebook Fan Page. If you haven't already don't forget to be my friend and fan on Facebook to get all the latest news and comments regarding my visual art and artistic photos.

I was very happy to take the photo of this beautiful yellow-footed tortoise. It practically posed for me and observed me taking photos of it. If it weren't so majestic a creature, I'd find it creepy that it posed better than many humans!

Yesterday afternoon I went to the zoo. Although my camera has poor zoom, I was able to get a few decent photos and more to edit. Unfortunately it was unseasonably warm with clear skies. As you might know, outdoor photos are best taken on cloudy days.

Spider Monkey in Motion 1

Here is my first artwork or as I like to say artistic photo from yesterday's zoo trip. The challenge here was to make it attractive since the spider monkey is behind a glass wall and the rest of the cage is an ugly wire mesh. Also I noticed that it looks like the log in the original photo appears to be coming out of its behind instead of ending at the cage so I edited out the distraction and the cage background.  The other problem is that the spider monkey was going the wrong way so I turned him around

Here is the original photo so you can compare. :-) Don't forget to comment!

Ocean Waves - Turquoise and Sea Green Kaleidoscope or Geometric art

This morning I was inspired to design some kaleidoscope artwork using colors in a painting of ocean waves on the coast of california. Beautiful and powerful at the same time.

Here is my favorite Ocean Waves Kaleidoscope Art 8.

Abstract Blue Petals Kaleidoscope Artwork Calidoscopio Petalos Azules

Here is the other artwork from yesterday that I decided to keep. Blue petals Kaleidoscope is what to me looks like a very abstract version of a blue daisy-like flower. I made the "petals" extra shiny.

Yesterday, I spent all day, and I  only made two works - here's one of them. It is funny how that happens. Sometimes you'll struggle to get anything at all and other days your only limitation is the speed of your computer or internet connection so when you laugh and wonder why I even bothered to post them, just think that I'm sharing the effort not the actual artwork. :-)

Here's a view of this design on a tie at Zazzle.

I actually like how it looks as a keychain.

These great vibrant kaleidoscope artworks were fun to make. They were inspired by the colors of rocks, soil, and the warmth of the sun. I hope you enjoy them too.

Green Stripes Kaleidoscopes Geometric ArtArte Abstracto y Geometrico Tipo Calidoscopio de Lineas Verdes

In this post, I wanted to share my favorite green stripes kaleidoscope artworks.  I was inspired to make them by looking at some photos I took a few years ago and I really liked the colors on a shirt in one photo. After enhancing the contrast and a few other tricks I had a pattern to play with.

This is one that especially appeals to me. I guess I just like the shape more. Perhaps you'll understand why by looking at it.

Here are three others I thought were nice.
